Argo’s sunset does not tell you your wallet’s claim status
Argo Finance was a liquid staking project on Cronos. On March 25, 2025, VVS Finance shared that Argo had decided to sunset its platform and announced an end date for VVS’s ARGO-related farm rewards. That announcement is useful context, but it is not a current balance check for your wallet.
If you created an unstake request before the platform sunset, its status must be checked against Argo’s contract. A request can be mature while the original interface is unavailable. Conversely, a mature request does not guarantee the contract has enough CRO to pay it.
Unstaking and claiming are two different steps
When you unstake bCRO through Argo, the contract records a withdrawal request and an unlock time. The CRO becomes claimable after that time has passed. You then call Argo’s claim function to withdraw the mature amount.
A wallet may have several requests with different unlock times. The checker reads the current request array for the address directly from Cronos, totals all mature entries, and shows the count. It does not replay wallet transactions or scan historical blocks from block 1. The current Argo contract’s claimCRO() call processes the wallet’s mature claimable balance together, so users do not need one separate claim transaction for every mature record.
How to check and claim an Argo unstake
- Open the community claim checker. Use the Argo unstake checker on Cronos Mainnet. You can paste an address for a read-only lookup or connect the wallet that owns the requests.
- Review the live quote. Check the mature request count, combined mature amount, estimated payout after Argo’s fee, and current Argo contract reserve. Expand “View individual requests” to inspect amounts and unlock times.
- Confirm the reserve is sufficient. A claim may fail if the Argo contract has less CRO available than the mature amount. The checker blocks a claim when its reserve read is below the quote.
- Choose the community success-fee share. If you use this community interface, select the percentage shown in the checker before you continue. Review its exact CRO amount and recipient in your wallet.
- Approve the batch once. On a supported Cronos wallet, one atomic approval submits the Argo claim and the selected community-fee transfer together. If the wallet cannot do that atomically, the checker will not send the claim alone.
Understand the Argo fee and community success fee
There are two distinct fees in this flow. Argo’s own unstake fee is calculated by the Argo contract and reduces the claim payout. The community success fee is a separate CRO payment to the address displayed by this independent checker. It is not an Argo protocol fee.
The community interface currently asks users to choose a success-fee share from 35% to 100% of the estimated payout. The exact amount and recipient are shown before wallet approval. This fee is not enforced by Argo’s contract: a user who calls Argo’s public claimCRO() function directly can claim without paying the community interface’s fee.
For the current checker, the success-fee recipient is 0x6b6ea07fe8839b39418ced0a6c2965befa8e913c. Always confirm the amount and recipient shown in your wallet. Network gas is separate.
Important limits and safety checks
- No payout guarantee: the checker cannot restore Argo’s service, add CRO to its contract, or force a withdrawal. The contract decides whether a claim succeeds.
- Use Cronos Mainnet: check the network name and the Argo contract destination in the wallet request.
- Review both actions: the community batch contains an Argo claim plus a CRO transfer to the fee address. Do not approve if the amount or recipient differs from what you selected.
- Never share your recovery phrase: the checker only needs a public wallet address to quote requests. No support contact should ask for your seed phrase or private key.
- This is independent community software: it is community-owned and maintained, and is not operated by or affiliated with Argo Finance, VVS Finance, or Cronos.
Frequently asked questions
Can I claim several mature Argo requests together?
Yes. The current Argo claim function processes the wallet’s mature claimable balance in one claimCRO() call. The checker shows the combined total and request count, with an optional per-request breakdown.
Does a mature request mean the CRO is guaranteed?
No. Maturity means the unlock time has passed. The Argo contract must also be able to execute the claim and have enough available CRO to pay it.
Do I have to use this community checker?
No. The Argo contract is public. This tool helps users inspect requests and prepare a claim, but Argo does not require the community success fee. Direct claims bypass that separate fee.
Is this the official Argo Finance website?
No. This is an independent community-owned tool for checking and claiming Argo unstake requests on Cronos. It has no official affiliation with Argo Finance, VVS Finance, or Cronos.
